“We could not duplicate it”

An intermittent symptom still deserves accurate documentation.

What to do, in order

  1. Ask the technician what conditions were tested, for how long, and what diagnostic codes or logs were checked. Request that your reported symptom remain in the repair order.
  2. Keep an event diary with mileage, exact message, ambient conditions, charging state if relevant, and frequency. Provide original footage captured by a passenger, fixed camera, or while stopped safely.
  3. Request a safe demonstration with a technician if appropriate. Ask whether a field technical review is available; technical escalation is different from executive repurchase review.
  4. If it happens again, promptly report the recurrence using the same symptom label and prior repair-order numbers.

What you can say

“I understand the technician did not reproduce it during this visit. That does not match my experience on [dates]. Please retain my complaint and document the test conditions.”

What to watch for

Avoid substituting “no issue exists” for “not reproduced.” Never stage a hazard or edit evidence to change its meaning.

Your next step

Use the repair-order correction template.

These steps are suggested consumer practices. Follow case-specific instructions, state requirements and your attorney’s advice when they apply.
