The warranty or filing period is ending

Repair eligibility and claim deadlines are separate clocks.

What to do, in order

  1. Find the applicable warranty booklet, in-service date and mileage limits. Collect evidence of when each defect was first reported.
  2. Ask the dealer and manufacturer to document a timely-reported unresolved concern. Do not assume a future repair appointment preserves every right.
  3. Check the state program and arbitration deadline immediately. Ask about any formal notice and proof-of-delivery requirement.
  4. Consult counsel promptly about possible warranty or other claims if a Lemon Law period has expired.

What you can say

“This concern was reported on [date] at [mileage] and remains unresolved. Please confirm how it will be handled under the applicable warranty.”

What to watch for

Do not treat time spent negotiating as a guaranteed extension. A general complaint may not count as a required filing.
